We are a family that loves to worship Jesus, study the Bible, have fun, encourage each other, and let the world know that they are special and forgiven through the life, death, and life again of the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ! Above all, we seek to be avenues for the Holy Spirit to bring healing and hope into peoples lives.
Statement of Faith
THE FAMILY OF GRACE
Distinctively Lutheran, yet Dynamically Different! Conservative in Doctrine Liberal in Love! Traditional Christanity, yet Refreshing in the Spirit! What is a Lutheran? Named after the Protestant reformer Martin Luther of the 1500s (though he pleaded that no church be named after him!), we are Christians (5.2 million strong in the United States) who believe and teach that God is holy and merciful - the perfect and just Creator who hates sin and must punish it, but . . . this same God is so loving and merciful that He willingly punished His Son Jesus Christ in our place. He died and rose for us all. We receive forgiveness of sins through faith. We seek to serve this holy and merciful God each day. That is why the first word of our church's name is GRACE! We could never get God to love us. His forgiveness is a free gift because, through Jesus, God loved us more than He hates our sin! "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do!" (Ephesians 2:8-10) We are the branch of Lutheranism called Missouri Synod. Since 1982 this diverse group of loving people of all ages has been gathering on weekends and during the week to hear from Jesus, love on Him and encourage each other. More than 300 people (and 700+ in the winter months) claim Grace as their home church. By God's grace we will keep on growing faith and numbers.
Mission Statement
To Transform the Emerald Coast and beyond with the healing and hope of the living Jesus through our loving family!
Message from our Pastor
Our passion is that you know and trust in the Savior who died in your place and gives abundant life now and eternal life when you die.
If you died today and you stood before God and he asked you, "Why, child, should I let you into heaven?", how would you respond?
The only way God will allow us into His perfect heaven and forgive our sins now is through personally believing that our sin is an offense against God. Each time we sin we break the law. A fine must be paid for each sin. Ah, but someone, namely Jesus, paid the fine when He died on the cross and rose again three days later. Therefore, the Judge (God) has thrown out the charges and you are acceptable to God. God hates sin, but he loved you more than He hates your sin so He allowed His Son to die!
Do you believe this? "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved!" (Acts 16:31). We invite you to talk with God.
"God, I know that I am a sinner. I need your forgiveness. Because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, forgive me. I believe that He did it for me. Fill me with your Holy Spirit so I can live for you each day and with you someday in heaven. Thank you Lord! Amen."
If you prayed this prayer for the first time, please let us know. We'd love to send you a free gift and rejoice with you! Our email is glc@gracedestin.com.
Ministry and Mission
Prayer Ministry Grace Lutheran has a many facetted, extremely active prayer ministry for those who are in need of prayers and those who pray for others. The Lord wants us to come to Him in prayer for all things. Missions and Outreach The congregation of grace as a whole and several dedicated groups are involved in both foreign missionary work and local community outreach. Some of the foreign missions and missionaries we support are in Estonia, China, countries of Southeast Asia, and Africa. Closer to home we aid community missions, and individuals in financial need due to medical and other problems. Care Ministry Our Savior has blessed Grace with a warm and caring membership that lovingly looks after the needs of each other. Our many different groups include members who "are there" for the ones who are hurting, screen for medical problems and inform us on matters concerning our health, promote healthy lifestyles through seminars, demonstrations, setting good examples and education, provide assistance with day-to-day problems of our seniors, and take part in our prayer chain.
Adult Bible Study
God calls us to study His Word and we love doing that. Various small and large group studies and discussion times are held on Sunday and throughout the week including DISCOVERY: a basic 8 week discussion oriented class on the Seven Assurances God gives us. Pastor Paul teaches his Pastors Class 2-3 times per year for those who express a desire to join our church. Other groups (for men, women and mixed) include classes on Spiritual Gifts, Spiritual Warfare, Faith, Intercessory Prayer, etc. We have PromiseKeepers and Women of Faith groups who gather too! We also have a special Bible Study for our snowbirds during the winter. Call the church for specific times and classes.
Monthly Column
Pastor Paul writes a monthly column for both the Destin Log to encourage everyone in their faith walk with our Lord.
